Honey Sweet Potato Biscuits
2 call-purpose flour
1 Tbspbaking powder
1 Tbsporange peel
1 Tbsplemon peel
3/4 cmashed cooked sweet potatoes ( 1 large baked, peeled & mashed)
1/2 cmilk (about)
How to Make Honey Sweet Potato Biscuits
- Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in large bowl. Cut in shortening until mixture is size of small peas. Add orange and lemon peels, sweet potato and honey; mix well.
- Add enough milk to make soft, but not sticky, dough. Knead 3 or 4 tmes on lightly floured surface. Pat dough to 1-inch thickness and cut into biscuits using a 2-inch biscuit cutter. (you could also use a drinking glass turned upside down)
- Place on a greaed baking sheet. Bake in preheated 400F oven 15 to 18 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve warm.
