"High Rise" Wheat Biscuits
2 cwhole wheat flour
1 clow protein all-purpose flour, e.g., white lily or martha white
2 Tbspbaking powder
1 cbutter, cold
1/3 csour cream
1/4 tspvanilla extract
How to Make "High Rise" Wheat Biscuits
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
- Combine flours, baking powder and salt; then cut in stick of butter with pastry blender.
- Combine remaining ingredients well and then add to dry mixture. Stir until it comes together as a lump of dough. Do NOT knead the dough.
- Sprinkle whole wheat bench flour down and roll out dough to desired thickness, cut out biscuits and bake until golden brown - about 10 minutes.
