green onion cream cheese breakfast biscuits

These are great biscuits. If I'm cooking a big breakfast these are on our table and with good reason.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package 3oz. cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 2/3 cup milk

How To Make green onion cream cheese breakfast biscuits

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in medium bowl. Cut in cream cheese and shortening with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resmbles coarse crumbs. Stir in green onions.
  • Step 2
    Make well in center of flour mixture. Add milk; stir until mixture forms soft dough that clings together and forms a ball.
  • Step 3
    Turn out dough onto well-floured surface. Knead dough gently 10 to 12 times. Roll or pat dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Cut out dough with floured 3-inch biscuit cutter.
  • Step 4
    Place biscuits 2-inches apart on ungreased large baking sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until tops and bottoms are golden brown. Serve warm.
