  • 1 1/2 c
    teff flour (bob's red mill brand or other)
  • 1/4 c
    coconut flour
  • 2 Tbsp
    flaxseed meal
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp
    sea salt
  • 3 Tbsp
    coconut oil
  • 1 c
    coconut milk

How to Make Ethiopian Teff Flour Biscuits


  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Combine the flours, flaxseed meal, baking powder and sea salt in a large bowl. Mix in coconut oil and mix thoroughly.
  3. Add the coconut milk and combine to form a dough. Place dough on a floured board or a parchment paper. Gently pat dough to about 1 inch thick.
  4. Using a round cookie cutter, cut dough and transferred to a baking sheet - preferably on parchment paper or a silpat mat. Bake 15 minutes. Serve warm with butter or spiced butter.
