Ingredients

  • 2 cups canola oil
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract, optional
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 can biscuits (16.3 oz)
  • - fine granulated sugar

How To Make easy delicious homemade cronuts

  • Step 1
In a 10" fry pan, heat the canola oil on the stove to 350° (adjust the amount of oil you use to be at 2" from bottom of pan depending on whether you are using a smaller or larger pan)
  • Step 2
In a medium mixing bowl, mix the powdered sugar, vanilla, butter, and water until smooth. It should be the consistency of thick syrup.
  • Step 3
Lay out the biscuits on a piece of parchment paper. Use an apple corer to punch out the center of each biscuit. Put the holes aside to make after you finish making the donuts.
  • Step 4
Place 4 donuts in the oil at a time. Watch closely because they brown pretty quickly. As soon as three 1st side is dark golden brown flip them over and cook the same way on three other side.
  • Step 5
When donuts are browned on both sides take the donuts out of the oil and place on a wire rack.
  • Step 6
Once donuts have cooled slightly, use tongs to place 1 donut at a time in the glaze, flip it over to cover both sides, and place back on the wire rack. Then sprinkle with the fine granulated sugar.
  • Step 7
Follow these same steps to make the little donut holes.
