  • 2 1/4 cups self rising flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil

How To Make easy buttermilk biscuit recipe

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 500 degrees.
  • Step 2
    Oil an iron skillet.
  • Step 3
    In a bowl mix the flour and buttermilk until smooth. Dust the mixture with flour. Spoon out a biscuit size amt. of dough with cupped hands or with a large spoon. Place in pan. Continue until all dough is transfer to pan. Spoon small amt. of oil across the top of the dough.
  • Step 4
    Bake until edges are brown. approx. 15-20 min. Then turn oven to broil until bread is golden brown. Serve hot.
