- 2 1/4 cups self rising flour
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil

Step 1Preheat oven to 500 degrees.

Step 2Oil an iron skillet.

Step 3In a bowl mix the flour and buttermilk until smooth. Dust the mixture with flour. Spoon out a biscuit size amt. of dough with cupped hands or with a large spoon. Place in pan. Continue until all dough is transfer to pan. Spoon small amt. of oil across the top of the dough.

Step 4Bake until edges are brown. approx. 15-20 min. Then turn oven to broil until bread is golden brown. Serve hot.
