Ingredients
- 1 - egg
- 2/3 cup milk
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 cup crisco shortening
How To Make country biscuits

Step 1Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Place the egg in a glass measuring cup. Add enough milk to measure 2/3 C and mix well. Combine the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a bowl and mix well.

Step 2Cut the shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add the egg mixture and stir until moistened. Place on a floured work surface and knead gently until the dough is smooth. Do not over handle the dough.

Step 3Roll the dough ½ inch thick. Cut with a biscuit cutter. Place on a baking sheet.

Step 4Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown.
