I use butter in this recipe for the shortening. These are great for lunch or dinner and, if you leave out the ground mustard, I think they'd be great for breakfast! Leftovers are best if toasted.

Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup milk
How To Make cornmeal drop biscuits

Step 1In a bowl, combine the first five ingredients; cut in shortening until crumbly.

Step 2Stir in cheese and milk just until moistened.

Step 3Drop by 1/4 cupfuls 2 inches apart onto a greased baking sheet.

Step 4Bake at 375 for 26-28 minutes or until golden brown.
