  • 2 c
    sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/4 c
    vegetable oil
  • 3/4 c
  • 1 stick
    butter or margarine, softened
  • 3/4 c
  • 1 tsp

  • 2 Tbsp
  • ·
    add enough powdered sugar for glaze consistency.

How to Make Cinnamon Biscuits


  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees; grease a 9 inch round baking pan.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda in a medium bowl and mix well.
  3. Stir in vegetable oil; add buttermilk and stir until just blended.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth. Roll dough into a 15x8 inch rectangle.
  5. Spread butter over the dough.
  6. Combine sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, mix well. Sprinkle over butter.
  7. Roll up jelly-roll style starting from ong side; pinch seams to seal.
  8. Cut the roll into 1-1/2 inch slices; arrange the slices, cut side up, in prepared baking pan.
  9. Bake until lightly browned, about 15 to 20 minutes.
  10. Remove from oven; combine powdered sugar and milk to form a glaze; spread over tops of biscuits.
