cindi's biscuits
I am usually a pretty good cook...until it came time to make homemade biscuits, that is! It has taken me years to make a decent biscuit. I love this quick and simple recipe. Try it for yourself.

Makes 9 biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 cups self rising flour
- 1 cup milk, whole
- 1/2 stick butter, cold,cut into small pieces
- 1/4 cup crisco shortening, cut into small pieces
How To Make cindi's biscuits

Step 1Preheat oven to 450 degrees

Step 2In a large mixing bowl, add flour, butter and shortening and, using a pastry blender, cut in the butter and shortening until crumbly.

Step 3Add cold whole milk and stir with a wooden spoon until just combined.

Step 4Turn dough out onto a floured surface and knead the dough a few times and pat out till about 1/4 inch thick. Tri-fold the dough over itself a few times. Then, using a 2 inch biscuit cutter, cut out biscuits, do not twist the cutter. Place on an ungreased baking sheet and bake for about 14-15 minutes.

Step 5May brush melted butter the tops when done baking, if desired. Makes about 9 biscuits
