Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup 1 3/2 sticks unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 2 medium eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped dried sweetened cherries
- 1/2 cup hazelnuts, toasted, coarsely chopped

Step 11 Line baking sheet with parchment paper: set aside. Combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt in medium bowl: mix well. 2 Beat butter in large bowl with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Gradually add sugars: continue beating until light. Scrape down bowl. Add eggs, one at a time: mix well. Add vnilla: mix well. Scrape down bowl. Add flour mixture, 1/2 cup at a time, beating well after each addition. Add chocolate chips, cherries, and hazelnuts: mix only until well blended. Do not overmix. 3 Arrange dough in 2 (12X2 1/2 inch) strips on prepare baking sheet: gently pat to smooth top. Refrigerate 3 to 4 hours. 4 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake strips 25 to 30 minutes or until light golden brown and firm. Remove from oven. 5 Reduce oven temperature to 325 degrees F. Cool strips 10 minutes. With serrated, dut each strip into 1 inch thick slices: cut each slice in half. Arrange pieces on baking sheet, cut-side up. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes: turn pieces over and bake 15 to 20 minutes longer or until lightly browned. Cool completely. 6 Arrage iin gift jar. Seal jar. Cover top of jar with fabric. Attach gift tag to jar with raffia or ribbon.
