My own personal touch on an old baking powder bisquit recipe. They are great alone, or with ranch dressing ... but they are best with my biscuit dip! ;)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder with parsley
  • 1/4 cup vegetable shortening
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • DIP ...
  • - sour cream
  • - garlic powder with parsley

How To Make cheesey garlic drop biscuits

  • Step 1
Combine dry ingredients in large bowl. Cut in shortening with fork (I usually start with a fork and end with my hands, it's always easier for me that way)
  • Step 2
Mix in cheese. Then mix in milk, getting dough consistent in texture & moisture. (Add extra milk a table spoon at a time if dough is too dry.)
  • Step 3
Drop onto greased cookie sheets. (I use an ice cream scoop ... we like our biscuits big around here!)
  • Step 4
Bake at 375 until golden brown and cooked through. (about 20-25 minutes.)
  • Step 5
DIP: In small individual cups, combine 1/4 cup sour cream and 1 tsp garlic powder. Best to refridgerate while biscuits bake.
