buttermilk biscuits
(1 RATING)
My nephew loves these biscuits and even eats them cold the next day. I think the difference in flavor by using butter instead of shortening is the trick.

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup + 2 tblsp. butter (not margarine)
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 -1 cup buttermilk
How To Make buttermilk biscuits
-
Step 1Heat oven to 425 degrees. Cut butter into flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda until it resembles fine crumbs. Stir in just enough milk so dough leaves the sides of the bowl and rounds up into a ball. Roll into 10 balls, place on greased cookie sheet and press half way down flat. Bake 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
