butter rolls
(1 RATING)
My mom used to fix these for special occasion breakfasts. If you want a quick version, substitute canned cinnamon rolls for the Bisquick version, pour on the sauce and bake according to cinnamon rolls directions. Not as good, but faster.

Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups bisquick
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2/3 cup milk
- - soft margerine
- - cinnamon sugar mixture
- SAUCE:
- 3 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 2-3 teaspoons cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons sugar
How To Make butter rolls
-
Step 1Combine Bisquick, sugar and milk to form dough stiff enough to pat out on floured surface. Pat out into rectangle.
-
Step 2Spread generously with softened margerine.
-
Step 3Sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar mixture (I use 1 part cinnamon to 2 parts sugar, but it can be more cinnamony if preferred).
-
Step 4Roll up longwise and cut into 8 rolls. Place cut side down in pan sprayed with nonstick spray (butter flavored is best).
-
Step 5For sauce mix milk, vanilla, flour and cinnamon sugar mixture in a bowl, then pour over rolls.
-
Step 6Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes until medium brown on top.
-
Step 7If canned cinnamon rolls are used instead of Bisquick rolls, use icing provided over the top of the rolls.
