My friend was telling me how her grandmother made biscuits from scratch, so I gave it a try...I just didn't have the touch her grandmother did, so I put my own spin on it!

Ingredients

  • - self rising flour
  • - whole milk
  • - salted butter
  • Pinch - cream of tartar

How To Make butter biscuits

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375 F.
  • Step 2
    Mix flour, butter, and cream of tartar together until a sticky dough has formed.
  • Step 3
    Add milk to mixture enough milk so dough is more managable.
  • Step 4
    Using hands, form into a round shape and place on a greased cookie sheet.
  • Step 5
    Bake for 15-20 minutes. Biscuits should be golden brown on edges and cracked on top.
  • Step 6
    For a different taste, add poppy seeds to the top of the biscuits before baking.
