all purpose flour
1/2 Tbsp
baking powder
1/2 Tbsp
1/2 tsp
1/2 tsp
ground black pepper
1/4 tsp
baking soda
2 Tbsp
very cold unsalted butter cut into 1/4 inch cubes
1/2 c
crumbled blue cheese
1 Tbsp
thinly sliced fresh chives
3/4 c

How to Make Blue Cheese Biscuits


  • 1Preheat oven to 450.
  • 2Put flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, pepper and baking soda in the bowl of a food processor.
  • 3Pulse several time to combine.
  • 4Remove top of processor, and scatter cubes of butter over flour mixture.
  • 5Toss cubes to coat in flour.
  • 6Replace top and pulse several times, until mixture resembles a coarse meal.
  • 7Add the blue cheese and pulse 1-2 more times.
  • 8Pour into a mixing bowl and add chives, add buttermilk and stir.
  • 9Transfer dough to a lightly floured board.
  • 10Work dough to a 3/4 inch circle.
  • 11Cut dough using a preferred cutter.
  • 12Space biscuits 1 inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet then brush with melted butter.
  • 13Bake until golden brown about 12 minutes.
