Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup crisco
- 1 - 2 cups shredded cheese (optional)
- 1 cup milk
How To Make biscuits
-
Step 1Cut together: flour, baking powder, salt and Crisco.
-
Step 2Stir in shredded cheese (optional)
-
Step 3gently stir in milk. Turn onto a floured board (or the counter/kitchen table) flatten to about 1 1/2 inch thick. fold in half from the top - flatten to about 1 1/2 inch thick. fold in half again from the right - flatten to about 1 1/2 inch thick. fold in half again from the botton - flatten to about 1 1/2 inch thick. fold in half again, from the left - flatten to about 1 1/2 inch thick.
-
Step 4(You should now have a roughly square shape piece of dough) pour a little bit of milk on the top (about 1-2 teaspoons) rub it across the entire top surface. Using a knife, cut into squares (I usually do 9 or 12 depending)
-
Step 5Put onto a baking sheet and bake for 12 - 17 min at 400°
