Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup crisco
  • 1 - 2 cups shredded cheese (optional)
  • 1 cup milk

How To Make biscuits

  • Step 1
Cut together: flour, baking powder, salt and Crisco.
  • Step 2
    Stir in shredded cheese (optional)
  • Step 3
gently stir in milk. Turn onto a floured board (or the counter/kitchen table) flatten to about 1 1/2 inch thick. fold in half from the top - flatten to about 1 1/2 inch thick. fold in half again from the right - flatten to about 1 1/2 inch thick. fold in half again from the botton - flatten to about 1 1/2 inch thick. fold in half again, from the left - flatten to about 1 1/2 inch thick.
  • Step 4
(You should now have a roughly square shape piece of dough) pour a little bit of milk on the top (about 1-2 teaspoons) rub it across the entire top surface. Using a knife, cut into squares (I usually do 9 or 12 depending)
  • Step 5
Put onto a baking sheet and bake for 12 - 17 min at 400°
