Ingredients
- 2 cups self rising flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup shortening (crisco)
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 12 ounces sliced bacon..cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup (4oz) shredded cheddar cheese

Step 1Preheat oven to 425.

Step 2Combine in a large bowl the first 3 ingredients. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in buttermilk until just combined. Fold on bacon & cheese.

Step 3Turn onto a lightly floured surface. Knead 4-5 times. Roll to 1/2" thickness;cut with a 2 1/2" biscuit cutter. Place on a greased cookie sheet.

Step 4Bake 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
