These are good for breakfast along with eggs and fruit.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups self rising flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup shortening (crisco)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 12 ounces sliced bacon..cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup (4oz) shredded cheddar cheese

How To Make bacon cheese biscuits

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 425.
  • Step 2
    Combine in a large bowl the first 3 ingredients. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in buttermilk until just combined. Fold on bacon & cheese.
  • Step 3
    Turn onto a lightly floured surface. Knead 4-5 times. Roll to 1/2" thickness;cut with a 2 1/2" biscuit cutter. Place on a greased cookie sheet.
  • Step 4
    Bake 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
