Bacon Biscuit Bites

David Reeves

For those mornings when you wake up smelling bacon frying in your mind . . . these biscuits provide a moist cheese and bacon flavored carrier for your favorite bacon slices (and whatever else you want to pile on the "sandwich.") I enjoyed mine last weekend with a dollop of homemade strawberry-fig preserves.
This is a way to have that great bacon flavor in the bread without having to chop up bacon and put it into the dough.

Notes from the Test Kitchen:
The bacon grease added to the dough makes these biscuits sooooo flavorful! They're really light too (which means I can sneak one or two extra). These would be great for breakfast, brunch or maybe even an appetizer at a party. So good!
