Ingredients

  • 5 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon warm water
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

How To Make angel biscuits

  • Step 1
    dissolve yeast in warm water. preheat oven to 400*
  • Step 2
    in a large bowl, combine buttermilk and oil.
  • Step 3
    add;yeast mixture and mix together with all dry ingredients.
  • Step 4
    put on a lightly floured board and roll out to 3/4 inch thick.
  • Step 5
    cut with biscuit cutter.
  • Step 6
    dip in melted butter and place in baking pan.
  • Step 7
    bake at 400* for 15 minutes or til brown.
  • Step 8
    dough will keep in refrigerator for 1 week.
  • Step 9
    biscuits do not have to rise before baking.
  • Step 10
    makes 3-4 dozen.
