- 4 cups self rising flour
- 1 3/4 cups buttermilk
- 3/4 cup shortening, butter flavor
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tablespoons yeast
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup water

Step 1Mix buttermilk and soda together * let stand

Step 2Mix yeast and water together * let stand

Step 3Mix flour and shortening together until mixed well Mix in buttermilk and soda mixture Mix in yeast and water mixture * let rise in pan

Step 4Roll out and cut biscuits Place biscuits in baking pan * let rise in baking pan

Step 5Bake at 350 degrees for about 8 minutes
