I was given this recipe by a friend and it called for Bisquick, I do not keep that in the house so I use my Bisquick substitute which I have also posted.

prep time 10 Min
cook time 15 Min
method Bake
yield 6-8 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup 7 up or sprite
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

How To Make 7 up biscuits

  • Step 1
Mix together dry ingredients. Cut in 4 tablespoons melted butter and sour cream. Add 7Up and mix well.
  • Step 2
Turn out onto lightly floured surface and lightly knead a couple of times. Pat out into a rectangle at 1- 1 1/2 inches thick. Using a knife or Bench scraper, cut across lengthwise and width wise into biscuits. They'll be square can use round cutter but cutting into squares wastes nothing.
  • Step 3
Melt butter in 9x13 inch baking pan. Place biscuits in pan touching each other . Bake at 375 until golden brown, about 15-20 minutes. Brush with melted butter when done.
  • Step 4
Note: The secret to great homemade biscuits is how you treat them, treat em rough, they'll be tough, treat them kindly they'll be tender. Don't over handle them. Think lazy man.... do just enough to get the job done.
