1 teaspoon tomato paste
3 1/3 cups quartered button mushrooms
For Biscuits:
2 cups self-rising flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cut up
1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs, such as parsley, rosemary or thyme
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 egg, beaten
