BARBECUE SAUCE:

2/3 cup chopped onion

1 tablespoon canola oil
•
3/4 cup each water and ketchup
•
1/3 cup lemon juice
•
3 tablespoons sugar
•
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
•
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
•
1/2 teaspoon salt
•
1/2 teaspoon pepper

1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke, optional
