¾ lb finely chopped nuts² ((340g))
1/4 cup light brown sugar³ (firmly packed (50g) (you may substitute granulated sugar))
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter⁴ (melted (226g) plus more as needed)
1 cup water (236ml)
1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
1 lemon slice
2 Tablespoons lemon juice (fresh-squeezed preferred)
1 cinnamon stick
1 whole clove
1/2 cup honey (118ml)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Semisweet or dark chocolate (for drizzling (optional))
