This was my Mom's recipe and everyone has always enjoyed it.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter, unsalted
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar, granulated
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vinegar
  • 3 - bananas, ripe
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups flour, all purpose
  • 1/2 cup nuts, chopped (optional)

How To Make banana bread

  • Step 1
    Place butter and sugar in a mixing bowl and mix together
  • Step 2
    Add the vinegar to the 1/4 measuring cup then add the milk until it equals 1/4 cup(you have just made sour milk) Add the milk to the butter and sugar. Add eggs and peeled bananas until all blended
  • Step 3
    Add soda, baking powder, vanilla, add flour slowly while mixing, add nuts if desired
  • Step 4
    Put into a large greased and floured loaf pan and bake in a preheated oven at 350 for about 1 hour 15 minutes.
