6 short ribs on the bone, about 3 pounds total, trimmed of excess fat
Kosher salt
Vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups orange juice
1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
2-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and minced
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 bunches baby carrots or 1 1/2 cups bagged mini carrots
