3 tablespoons brandy, dark rum, or fruit liqueur

2 eggs, separated

2 tablespoons light vegetable oil

1 cup (150 g) flour

7/8 cup (200 ml) water

vegetable oil for frying, preferably sunflower

superfine sugar for sprinkling on after serving
