It's almost time for the Vidalias! This is an Amish recipe for the best onion rings I've ever had. I hate to get out the deep fryer--it takes so much oil--but when I do, I always make these! I like to make them on the back deck as the hot oil smells the house up!

Ingredients

  • 1 - large vidalia.
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup cold water.

How To Make vidalia onion rings

  • Step 1
    Whisk ingredients until creamy. Slice Vidalia onion into 1/8 inch slices.
  • Step 2
    Dry onion with towel and dredge in batter. Fry in deep oil or 1 inch in a skillet. One onion makes a large platter of onion rings. Salt & Serve immediately!
