These are the best stuffed mushrooms that I have ever eaten. I found this recipe 40 something years ago when I was first married in the cookbook that came with my blender.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 pound mushrooms
  • 4 slices dry bread
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon marjoram, dried
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme, dried
  • 1/4 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1 - lemon juice

How To Make stuffed mushrooms

  • Step 1
    De-stem mushrooms, quarter onion and cut up bread. Add all to food processor and pulse until fine.
  • Step 2
    Melt butter in skillet. Add mushroom mixture and saute 5 minutes. Add lemon juice, parsley, salt, marjoram, thyme, garlic and white wine, Mix well and saute 5 minutes over low heat.
  • Step 3
    Place mushroom caps in a 9" x 13" pan and sprinkle with salt. Fill caps with mushroom mixture.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 375-degrees for 10 minutes. Turn oven to broil and move to 4-5 inches from heat. Broil 5 minutes.
