    white potatoes
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 medium
    onion
  • ·
    vegetable oil
  • ·
    apple sauce

How to Make Potato Latkes (Pancakes)

Step-by-Step

  1. peel potatoes
  2. Grate potatoes into large mixing bowl
  3. Peel and Grate onion
  4. Mix together potatoes, onion, salt, baking soda and flour
  5. Heat oil and place 1 rounded tablespoon of mixture into it & press down to form pancake
  6. Fry until crisp around edges then turn over and fry other side
  7. Serve hot with apple sauce for dipping
