Ingredients

white potatoes
1
egg
1 tsp
baking soda
2 Tbsp
flour
1 tsp
salt
1 medium
onion
vegetable oil
apple sauce

How to Make Potato Latkes (Pancakes)

Step-by-Step

  • 1peel potatoes
  • 2Grate potatoes into large mixing bowl
  • 3Peel and Grate onion
  • 4Mix together potatoes, onion, salt, baking soda and flour
  • 5Heat oil and place 1 rounded tablespoon of mixture into it & press down to form pancake
  • 6Fry until crisp around edges then turn over and fry other side
  • 7Serve hot with apple sauce for dipping
