Potato Latkes are a classic Chanukah dish, but enjoyed by everyone!!

Ingredients

  • 4 - white potatoes
  • 1 - egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 medium onion
  • - vegetable oil
  • - apple sauce

How To Make potato latkes (pancakes)

  • Step 1
    peel potatoes
  • Step 2
    Grate potatoes into large mixing bowl
  • Step 3
    Peel and Grate onion
  • Step 4
    Mix together potatoes, onion, salt, baking soda and flour
  • Step 5
    Heat oil and place 1 rounded tablespoon of mixture into it & press down to form pancake
  • Step 6
    Fry until crisp around edges then turn over and fry other side
  • Step 7
    Serve hot with apple sauce for dipping
