~ popeye bars ~ savory good!

I was fortunate enough to have 2 children that both love spinach and they sure love these bars, I hope you do too! So cheesy good...

Ingredients

  • 2 - 10 ounces frozen chopped spinach - cooked and drained
  • 4 - beaten, eggs
  • 1 bag success rice - cooked
  • 1/2 cup minced onion
  • 1/4 cup melted, butter
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon each - nutmeg & thyme
  • 1 1/2 - 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons dry parsley
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups shredded, cheddar cheese

How To Make ~ popeye bars ~ savory good!

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish. Set aside. In a large bowl, beat eggs well, add salt, parsley, thyme, onion, worcestershire sauce, nutmeg, butter, milk and stir well to combine. Fold in the spinach, rice and cheese, making sure its well combined.
  • Step 2
    Spread mixture evenly into prepared dish. Bake for 40 - 45 minutes, or until set and no longer jiggly. Cut into squares and enjoy!
