Ingredients
- 1 bag frozen pearl onions
- TEMPURA
- 1/2 cup rice flour
- 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/3 - 1/2 cup ice cold sparking water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- peanut oil for deep frying
- GARLIC AIOLI
- 3 large egg yolks
- 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- olive or avocado oil
How To Make pearl onion tempura with garlic aioli

Step 1Take the bag of onions out of the freezer and let sit at room temperature for about an hour to thaw.

Step 2To make the aioli, add all the ingredients except the oil to a food processor. Slowly drizzle the oil in while processing until a thick aioli forms. Place in the fridge until the onions are done.

Step 3Place the rice flour and baking powder in a dish.

Step 4Slowly add the sparkling water, whisking until a thin batter appears. Add the onions to the batter.

Step 5Bring the oil to 350 degrees. Deep fry the onions in batches until golden.

Step 6Drain on paper towels.

Step 7Serve with the aioli for dipping.
