These tasty small calzone's are perfect for a summer crowd! My kids and family love these to munch on!

Ingredients

1 Tbsp
olive oil
1/2 c
chopped onion
1/2 c
chopped green bell pepper
1/4 tsp
salt
1/8 tsp
dried basil leaves
1/8 tsp
dried oregano leaves
1/8 tsp
black pepper
1 can(s)
(12 ounces) country biscuits (10 biscuits)
1/4 c
(1 ounce) shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 c
prepared pizza sauce
2 Tbsp
grated parmesan cheese

How to Make Onion and Pepper Calzones

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 400*F. Heat oil in medium nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and bell pepper; cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Add salt, Basil, oregano and black pepper; stir to combine. Cool slightly.
  • 2While onion mixture is cooling, flatten biscuits into 3 1/2 inch circles about 1/8 inch thick using palm of hand.
  • 3Stir mozzarella cheese into onion mixture; spoon 1 teaspoonful onto each biscuit. Fold biscuits in half, covering filling. Press edges with tines of for to seal; transfer to baking sheet.
  • 4Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. While calzones are baking, place pizza sauce in small microwavable bowl. Cover with vented plastic wrap. Microwave at HIGH 3 minutes or until hot.
  • 5To serve, spoon pizza sauce and Parmesan cheese evenly over each calzone. Serve immediately.
