jalapeno popper toasts

Made up this recipe because I didn't have enough jalapenos to make traditional jalapeno poppers and wanted a spicy side to go with tortilla soup. Hope you enjoy.

Yum! These are a great appetizer or could be a tasty side for your next Mexican meal. There's just enough jalapeno to give it a bite. Quick and easy to prepare, keep this mixture on hand in your fridge. Then, if you're looking for a snack or guests stop by you can whip these toasts up in no time.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonaise
  • 4 ounces (1/2 of a block) light cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup real bacon bits or cooked crumbled bacon
  • 3-4 - jalapenos, fresh (seeds and ribs removed if you want it mild)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or jack cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 - loaf of French bread, sliced 1/2 inch rounds

How To Make jalapeno popper toasts

  • Covering baking sheet with aluminum foil.
    Step 1
    Heat oven to 350. Line a sheet pan with foil.
  • Slicing the bread.
    Step 2
    Slice bread into 1/2" rounds.
  • Ingredients blended together in the food processor.
    Step 3
    In a food processor, add all ingredients, except bread, and pulse until well blended but still chunky.
  • Spreading mixture onto the bread slices.
    Step 4
    Spread jalapeno mixture onto bread slices.
  • Toasts baking in the oven.
    Step 5
    Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
