My husband is from upstate N.Y. I am from North Carolina. I love to get italian recipes, and add my southern flair. NOTE: I have used collared greens instead or lettuce, it's still yummy

Ingredients

  • 3 bunches different types of lettuce
  • 3 slices cappricola/or country ham chopped
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon hot pepper flakes
  • 3 cloves garlic chopped
  • 1 small yellow onions chopped
  • 1/3 cup roasted red pepper chopped
  • 2 small hot cherry peppers chopped
  • 1 cup italian bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup olive oil

How To Make italian greens

  • Step 1
    boil lettuce in a pot of water until soft, drain add olive oil to hot pan, add onions,garlic,ham cook until onions are clear, add lettuce,pepper flakes,red peppers,parmcheese,hot cherry peppers,saute 5=10 mins. add 1/2 bread crumbs. will be dry,so add more olive oil appox 3tablespoons.
  • Step 2
    sprinkle the rest of bread crumbs over top of pan. bake on 375 until top brown
