french onion soup bites

I made these on Easter & my family loved them.

Ingredients

  • 1 - yellow or white onion
  • 1 - bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon thyme, dried
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 - beef bullion cube
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 box athens phyllo shells
  • - salt & pepper
  • - guyere cheese grated

How To Make french onion soup bites

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven 350
  • Step 2
    Melt butter in large pan over medium heat.Add slices onions,bay leaf and thyme.Carmelize onion about 10 min.Dissolve boullion cube in 1/2 C.water and add to pan to deglaze.Remove bay leaf.Fill each cup with mixture and bake in oven for 10-12 min.Sprinkle each cup with grated cheese and broil just until melted.Or you can just put it back into the hot oven.
