If you've never tried Shishito peppers before, these are a must-have! They're not usually very spicy hot, but occasionally they can be. If they're too spicy, just mix up a quick aioli with mayo and garlic, and it should tame the spiciness. I normally serve as appetizers, but they're also great alongside a grilled steak or pork chop.

Ingredients

  • 12 - shishito peppers
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon tamari (or low sodium soy sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

How To Make blistered shishito peppers (air fryer)

  • Step 1
Preheat air fryer to 400 F.
  • Step 2
Toss the peppers with the sesame oil until well coated. You may have to add a tad more oil if the peppers are large/long. Spread the peppers in the air fryer's basket. Cook for about 6-8 minutes until they are soft and blistered. Shake the basket every few minutes so that all sides get blistered.
  • Step 3
Pile the hot peppers on a serving plate and serve immediately. These are great as is, and even better when served with a garlic aioli.
