Ingredients

  • 1 cup canola oil for fring
  • 2 cups bitter ale
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons cornsarch
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 3 - large portabella mushrooms cut into 1/2 in slices

How To Make beer battered portabella mushrooms

  • Step 1
    Heat oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan 375 degree
  • Step 2
    Whisk ale,flour,sesame,seeds,cornstarch,and baking powder in a large bowl. Batter will be slightly thick and lumpy
  • Step 3
    Dip 7-8 strips of the mushrooms at a time into the batter shaking off excess . Fry mushrooms in batches in oil 5-6 min
