Ingredients

  • 3 pounds asparagus trimmed (thin to medium)
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons wasabi paste

How To Make asparagus with wasabi-mayonnaise dip

  • Step 1
    Blanch asparagus in 2 batches in a large saucepan of boiling salted water 1 minute.
  • Step 2
    Transfer to a colander and rinse under cold running water to stop cooking.
  • Step 3
    Drain well and pat dry.
  • Step 4
    Whisk together mayonnaise, soy sauce, sugar, lemon juice, and wasabi paste until sugar is dissolved.
  • Step 5
    Serve asparagus with dip.
  • Step 6
    Note: Asparagus and dip may be prepared 1 day ahead and chilled, covered.
