spicy garlic and pepper shrimp

Very easy and delicious use of fresh wild shrimp. THAI flavor and spicy. Stir fried and served hot over shredded cabbage.

Ingredients

  • 8 to 10 large fresh shrimp, peeled and de-veined (26 to 30 size)
  • 2-1/2 tablespoon canola or vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage or cole slaw mix
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 medium thinly sliced onion
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

How To Make spicy garlic and pepper shrimp

  • Step 1
    Heat 1 Tablespoon oil in a skillet over high heat. Add cabbage and 1 Tablespoon water. Stir fry for 30 seconds.
  • Step 2
    Remove cabbage from skillet and place on a serving platter.
  • Step 3
    Heat the remaining 1-1/2 Tablespoons oil in the skillet over high heat. Place the garlic and shrimp in the skillet and stir fry until garlic is lightly browned and shrimp turns pink. Add pepper flakes, onion, cilantro, soy sauce and remaining water to the skillet.
  • Step 4
    Stir-fry for 10 seconds. Pour the hot mixture onto the cabbage.
  • Step 5
    Serve
