Southern Living's Confetti Crab Dip

This recipes comes from Southern Living's Five Star Recipe Collection Cookbook. This is a good warm dip that is made in the microwave. I guarantee you won't have any leftovers!

  • 16 oz
    cream cheese
  • 3/4 lb
    canned crabmeat, flaked
  • 1/4 c
    green onions minced
  • 3 Tbsp
  • 2 Tbsp
    sour cream
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 1/8 tsp
    sweet red pepper flakes
  • 2 oz
    jar diced pimiento, drained
  • 1 Tbsp
    sauterne wine or any sweet wine will do
  • 1 Tbsp
    chives, fresh chopped

How To Make

    Place cream cheese in a 1-quart casserole. Microwave, uncovered, at HIGH for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until softened. Stir well.

    Stir in crabmeat, green onions, mayonnaise, sour cream, and seasonings. Cover with heavy duty plastic wrap and microwave at HIGH for 2 to 3 minutes or until thoroughly heated, stirring after 1 minute.

    Stir in pimiento and wine. Sprinkle with chopped fresh chives right before serving to avoid discoloring the dip. Serve warm dip with assorted crackers. Makes 3 1/2-cups.
