Ingredients
- FOR THE SAUCE
- 3/4 cup fresh blood orange juice about 6 oranges
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic minced
- 1/2 tablespoon fresh ginger grated
- SCALLOPS
- 2 pounds sea scallops
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- salt
How To Make scallops in blood orange sauce

Step 1All all the ingredients for the sauce together in a saucepan. Bring to a boil lower the heat and simmer until reduced by about 1/2 about 7 minutes.

Step 2Meanwhile get a skillet on the stove and get it hot. Pat the scallops dry and season with salt. Add the olive oil and butter to the skillet.

Step 3Sear the scallops 2 to 3 minutes per side to get a brown crust.

Step 4To serve ladle some sauce on the plate and top with the scallops.
