Ingredients

  • SALMON EGG ROLLS
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon sambal olek
  • 4 3 oz portions of salmon filets
  • 4 large egg roll wrapper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • MAPLE SOY REDUCTION
  • 1 1/2 cups maple syrup
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar

How To Make salmon egg rolls with maple reduction

  • Step 1
    Make the reduction Add the Maple Syrup, soy sauce and dark brown sugar to a saucepan. Bring to a boil watching that it don't boil over and reduce heat to low and let reduce by 1/2..Set aside to cool.
  • Step 2
    Make the egg rolls Combine the soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, garlic, ginger and sambal in a bowl. Add the salmon pieces and marinate 1 hour.
  • Step 3
    Preheat oven 400 degrees. Lay out the 4 egg roll wrappers and a little dish of water and a pastry brush.
  • Step 4
    Remove the salmon from the marinade and discard the marinade. Lay a piece of salmon on each egg roll. Brush the water around the edges. Fold up according to directions on the egg roll package.
  • Step 5
    In a oven safe skillet add the oil. Once oil is hot brown the salmon egg rolls on all side. Place in oven and bake about 7 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Remove from oven. Cut each egg roll in half diagonal and serve with Maple soy reduction. Garnish with chives if desired.
