It's famous the world over, but Australia really embraced the prawn cocktail as its own in the 1970s. It was almost the beginning of fine dining, Aussie style. This used the traditional Rose Marie sauce.

Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh cooked prawns already peeled, and deveined
- 2 1/2 cups iceberg lettuce , finely sliced
- - lemon wedges
- - fresh parsley, finely chopped
- SAUCE
- 2/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated horseradish
- - tabasco sauce, to taste
- pinch cayenne pepper
How To Make prawn cocktail

Step 1Check to make sure prawns are completely peeled and deveined.

Step 2Mix together sauce ingredients in a bowl large enough for all the shrimp.

Step 3Toss prawns with sauce.

Step 4Put a small bit of lettuce in martini glass first.

Step 5Next put in prawns. Finish up with lemon and parsley..
