My daughter Lexi and I love going to Longhorn Steakhouse as a special treat. We end up ordering two orders of this because we love it soooo much. This is not my recipe but a copycat. I am making a cookbook for my kids and it wouldn't be complete without this recipe! Love you Lexi and I hope everytime you make this you think of me and our special dinners!

1 pkg
popcorn shrimp~12 ozs. (seapak)
cherry peppers, sliced
juice of one lemon
1 stick
ranch dressing, or use the one i have posted here as well


1/2 c
1/4 c
kosher salt, finely ground
1/4 c
brown sugar
2 Tbsp
mustard powder
1/4 c
chili powder
1/4 c
2 Tbsp
ground black pepper
1/4 c
granulated garlic
2 Tbsp
cayenne pepper

How to Make Longhorn's Wild West Shrimp w/Prairie Dust


  • 1Mix all Prairie Dust ingredients and store in a container. This makes extra which can be used on a big, juicy ribeye steak sprinkled on after cooking or used as a rub.
  • 2Fry shrimp in large skillet according to package directions. Drain and pat dry with a paper towel.
  • 3Place stick of butter in a large saucepan with juice of 1 lemon. Heat over medium low heat until butter is melted.
  • 4Add fried shrimp, cherry peppers and 1 1/2 teaspoons Prairie Dust mixture. Mix together and simmer on low heat until flavors mix, about 5 minutes.
  • 5Transfer to serving dish and dip in Ranch dressing. Simply divine! Hope you enjoy it as much as Lexi and I do!
