We always have this for our special gatherings - i.e.- Christmas, New Years - Thanksgiving. I always make a double recipe and it helps keep my guest happy while i finish setting out my party food. This is a very old recipe i have been using for years and it is truly a crowd pleaser.

1/4 c
6 Tbsp
lemon juice, fresh3
3 lb
cooked plain shrimp


1 1/2 c
1/4 c
lemon juice, fresh
1/2 tsp
1 Tbsp
prepared horseradish
1 Tbsp
worcestershire sauce
1 tsp
finely chopped celery
few dash(es)
tabasco hot sauce
1/2 tsp
grated sweet onion

How to Make Hot Shrimp with Dipping Sauce


  • 1Make the dipping sauce up to 3 days ahead and refrigerate. Just combine all ingredients to let them marinate.
  • 2Place butter in a large chaffing dish and when melted add the lemon juice. Add the shrimp and sir a few times to make sure they have all warmed nicely.
  • 3Dip the hot sshrimp into the icy-cold dipping sauce and enjoy.
