hot shrimp with dipping sauce

We always have this for our special gatherings - i.e.- Christmas, New Years - Thanksgiving. I always make a double recipe and it helps keep my guest happy while i finish setting out my party food. This is a very old recipe i have been using for years and it is truly a crowd pleaser.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 6 tablespoons lemon juice, fresh3
  • 3 pounds cooked plain shrimp
  • DIPPING SAUCE
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice, fresh
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped celery
  • few dash tabasco hot sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated sweet onion

How To Make hot shrimp with dipping sauce

  • Step 1
    Make the dipping sauce up to 3 days ahead and refrigerate. Just combine all ingredients to let them marinate.
  • Step 2
    Place butter in a large chaffing dish and when melted add the lemon juice. Add the shrimp and sir a few times to make sure they have all warmed nicely.
  • Step 3
    Dip the hot sshrimp into the icy-cold dipping sauce and enjoy.
