hot crab bread

My friends and I love Crab Bread. We always get it at a local restaurant. Since we love it so much, my friends asked me to come up with a version. Some use mayo but I like to use cream cheese in mine with just a little mayo. I love cheesy goodness!

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 dash dry mustard
  • 2 - splashes of tobasco sauce or crushed red pepper flakes
  • 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon pecorino romano cheese
  • 2 teaspoons diced onion
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 - egg whisked
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella & cheddar mixture
  • 8 ounces canned crabmeat, flaked or imitation crab meat
  • 1 teaspoon of chardonnay
  • 2 teaspoons celery diced small
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 - french baguette bread loaf cut length wise
  • - butter to spread on sliced loaf halves
  • TOPPING
  • 1-2 cup shredded mozzarella & cheddar mixture
  • SERVE WITH MARINARA OR HIDDEN VALLEY RANCH DRESSING
  • 1 teaspoon chopped green onion

How To Make hot crab bread

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F' Cut baguette lengthwise and spread with butter
  • Step 2
    Combine all ingredients in order
  • Step 3
    top loaves with mixture and sprinkle topping of cheese and bake in oven covered with aluminum foil for 10-20 minutes just until mixture is hot and bubbly. Remove foil and set oven to broil loaves just until light browned to get a nice presentation effect.
  • Step 4
    Serve with your favorite marinara or Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing
