I am always asked for the recipe for this. Everyone wants to know what is in it!!

The last time I made it, I added the zest of one lemon. It was very, very good!

minced clams plus juice
1 medium
onion, chopped
1 Tbsp
fresh lemon juice
1 c
bread crumbs (approximately)
1/2 c
butter, melted
1/2 tsp
oregano, dried
1/4 tsp
garlic salt or more to taste
1 1/2 Tbsp
dried parsley or equivalent of fresh
parmesan cheese, for sprinkling

How to Make Hot Clam Spread


  • 1Mix all ingredients together except Parmesan cheese. Be sure to add bread crumbs last, as more or less than 1 cup may be needed, depending on amount of clam juice.
  • 2Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  • 3Bake at 350° for 20 minutees.
  • 4Serve with crackers.
