  • 16 ounces pickled herring
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream

  • 1 cup celery stalks
  • 1/2 cup water chestnuts
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 medium apples

How To Make herring apple spread

  • Step 1
Drain Herring and dice into bite-size pieces. Minced Onion, chopped Celery, Water Chestnuts, and Apples into bite-size pieces. Whip Sour Cream until it stands in soft peaks. Blend Sour Cream with Herring and ingredients. Blend well. Chill before serving. Serve on Lettuce Leaves and/or with crackers, bread.
  • Step 2
